TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) – The U.S. Department of Education has awarded a total of $756,000 in grants to three Kansas colleges to bolster their counseling and admissions services.
The federal agency says the money will be used to help provide counseling and admissions information to 3,000 prospective students. The department sees the grants as a way to boost higher education enrollment.
The University of Kansas Center for Research received $263,000. The center is a nonprofit foundation that supports research and graduate studies on the university’s campus in Lawrence.
Barton County Community College received a $263,000 grant, and Wichita State University received $230,000.
