A two-vehicle accident injured an Alexander woman in Barton County on Friday evening. 41-year-old Janice Showalter of Alexander was driving a Chrysler passenger car westbound on K-96 approaching Main Street in Albert. A Dodge 2500 truck driven by 19-year-old Alex Roth of Ellinwood was northbound on Main Street in Albert. Roth pulled out in front of Showalter’s vehicle, causing Showalter’s vehicle to hit the right side of Roth’s vehicle. Showalter was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital where she was treated and released. Roth was not injured during the accident. Both subjects were wearing their seatbelts. Roth was issued a citation for failing to yield at a stop sign.
