Individuals have the opportunity to travel safely into the New Year by taking a ride in the New Year’s Eve Taxi. Chief Dean Akings of The Great Bend Police Department says that rides will be provided to those going home anywhere in Barton County for a $5 dollar donation that goes to the local Drug Abuse Resistance Education program.

Akings says he is looking forward providing the New Year’s Eve Taxi once again, as he estimated around 65 people taking advantage of the service last year alone. Call 620-639-TAXI, that’s 620-639-8294 anytime between 10PM to 3AM.
