He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #862, American Legion Argonne Post 180, American Legion Baseball, Boy Scouts and was chairman of Holy Family School Endowment, all of Great Bend; American Society of Petroleum Geologists, Kansas Geological Society, Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists, American Institute of Professional Geologists, State of Wyoming Professional Geologists, Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists and Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association.
