Garfield – Gerald L. Shuss, 88, died May 4, 2013, at Larned Health Care, Larned. He was born September 1, 1924 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, the son of John and Elizabeth R. Buhrer Shuss. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer/stockman.

He belonged to the Church of Christ and the Saddle Club, both of Larned, was a member of the Lions Club, and served on the Coop Board and Santa Fe Township board, all of Garfield.

Survivors include: several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Orville, Francis and Kenneth Baldwin; four sisters, Juanetta Nelson, Avanelle Hoskinson, Dosca Wolfe and Louise Shuss.

 Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with James Underwood presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
