She married Charles F. German March 12, 1935. He died April 18, 1961. She then married Lowell Henry Pelton August 12, 1978 at Claflin, Kansas. He died January 7, 2002.
She was a payroll clerk for Central Kansas Medical Center and was secretary at Claflin High School.
Mrs. Pelton was a Claflin, Kansas, resident from 1945 until she moved to Cherry Village in 2009.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Claflin Booster Club, all of Claflin, and Big Bend Good Sam Club.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Vada Glaze; two brothers, Irvan Hassman and Evert Hassman; and one sister, Verda Walker.
