*Carol Joan Lundquist passed away October 5, 2013, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, KS, in much of the same manner in which she was born. She died with strength, grace, and dignity. Carol was born March 27, 1927 at her aunt’s home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Carl John & Rose Caroline (Blum) Pohlman, with a remote chance of survival. Born two months prematurely, Carol was placed in an improvised shoe box incubator by her aunt and father, after the doctor felt there was no hope of survival.

OBITUARY INFORMATION

Carol married Verome Lundquist September 16, 1946 at Lindsborg, KS. He died June 13, 1975.

Mrs. Lundquist was Great Bend, KS, resident since 1955.

Carol was a Nurse’s Aide and ward clerk, being employed at Central Kansas Medical Center for 20 years. After her retirement she worked part time for Wal-Mart.

Two daughters: Arlene Bakumenko and husband Val of Great Bend, KS

Sara Orsack and husband Terry of Sioux Falls, SD

Six grandchildren

Three great grandchildren

Many grand pets that she loved and cherished

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Russell Pohlman and Gerald Pohlman; two sisters, Arlene Rose Pohlman and Betty Jane Gehring; and many pets and grand pets.
