Scotty married Sheila Renard November 4, 1969, at Ellsworth, KS. He later married Brenda Hickel Deiser April 15, 2000 at Great Bend, KS. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War.

A Topeka, Kansas resident since 2012, coming from Great Bend and Otis, Scotty was a self-employed drug and alcohol therapist.

He attended Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, and the V.F.W., D.A.V., and the American Legion, all of Ellsworth.

Five Grandchildren: Aspen and Ethan Gustus of Caney, KS

Taylor, Hensley and Landry Black of Kansas City, MO

 

He was preceded in death by brother, Barry Black.
