He married Darlene Doonan August 27, 1962 at Great Bend, Kansas. 

He was a farmer/stockman and a former school bus driver for USD 431

Mr. Stoss was a rural Hoisington, Kansas lifetime resident.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #1521 both of Hoisington, and a former Eureka Township Board member.

Wife: Darlene Stoss, of the home

two sons: John E. Stoss  and his companion Ola Allen of Hoisington, KS, and Jerald R. Stoss and his wife Dana of Hoisington, KS

two daughters: Michelle Kultgen and her husband Keith of Sulphur Springs, TX, and Melissa Cowles and her husband Patrick of Hutchinson, KS

three sisters: Leona Reichuber of Great Bend, KS, Evelyn Penka of Great Bend, KS, and Arlene Yarmer of Milberger, KS

eight grandchildren: John R. Stoss and his wife Becky, Shelli Schmidt and her husband Travis, Darrell “Luke” Keener, Ryan Kultgen and his wife Jessica, Chris Kultgen, Morgan Cowles, Mallory Cowles, and Caden Cowles

two great-grandchildren: Madison Henning and McKenna Schmidt

 

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Melinda Stoss, and one sister, Erma Schloctermeier.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington

Celebrant: Father Anselm Eke

Interment: St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hoisington, Kansas

Visitation:  1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home
