Rozel – Richard M. Coleman, 87, passed away September 7, 2014 at Waldron Place Assisted Living in Hutchinson.
He was born July 30, 1927, in Valley View, Pennsylvania, the son of Morris E. and Elura Schadel Coleman. A longtime area resident, he was a farmer and was a Mental Health Technician for the Larned State Hospital.
He was a member of the Rozel United Methodist Church, was a vocalist for the Waldron Place Bell Ringers and served in the United States Army.
On August 24, 1947, he married Mary Christine Newman in Wichita. She passed away December 13, 2005.
Survivors include: three daughters, Becky Kisner, Hutchinson, Myra Lee, Hanston and Kathryn Schooley, Virginia; a son, Randy Coleman, Texas; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Coleman Jr. and a sister, Freda Freiling.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Rev. Jeff Slater presiding. Visitation will be from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
