Edith M. Haun

Haun Edith 2Larned – Edith M. Haun, 102, passed away September 30, 2014, at Country Living, Larned.

She was born April 11, 1912, in rural Pawnee County, the daughter of John L. and Ruth C. Scott Dryden, she was a homemaker/farm wife.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sunflower Club, Garden Club, Music Club and was a 4-H sewing leader, all of Larned. She was also an original member of the 34 Star Productions.

On August 20, 1931, she married William Harold Haun in rural Larned. He passed away March 2, 2006.

Survivors include: two sons, Donald Haun and wife Sandy, Larned; and Winston Haun and wife Connie, San Marcos, Texas; two daughters, Joann Mason, Newbury Park, California; and Shirley Smith and husband Don, Bella Vista, Arkansas; a sister, Lois Vasey, Winfield; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Arnold, John, Robert and David Dryden; two sisters, Mary Moran, Doris Ferrell; a grandson, David Andrew Smith and a great-great granddaughter, Evangeline Grace Hypes.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Larned, with Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be at the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
