OBITUARY INFORMATION

He married Jacqueline L. Strong February 24, 1962 at Smith Center, Kansas.

He was an installer and repairman for Southwestern Bell for twenty-five years, then for AT&T, retiring in 1990.  Following his retirement, he worked in the telecommunications industry and then CPI.

Ray was a Great Bend, Kansas resident since 1964 coming from Hays, Kansas.

He was a United States Air Force veteran.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Argonne Post 180, and Telephone Pioneers. He was a frequent blood donor for the American Red Cross.

wife: Jacque L. Scheideman, of the home

two sons: Brad Scheideman and his wife Rita of Great Bend, KS, and Brian Scheideman and his wife Jan of Wamego, KS

two sisters: Mary Ann Pechanec and her husband Frank of La Crosse, KS, and Kathy Schlegel of Pilot Point, TX

one brother: Robert Scheideman and his wife Mary of Ellinwood, KS

eight grandchildren: David Scheideman, Chris Scheideman, Shannon Peterson, Christopher Scheideman, Amanda Scheideman, Eric Mason, Jade Mason, and Stephanie Mason

six great-grandchildren: Emily Scheideman, Aaron Scheideman, Kendra Scheideman, Kaylee Scheideman, Hailey Peterson, and Gage Peterson

 

He was preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Mason.

Place of Service: Bryant Funeral Home

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, Kansas

Visitation:  1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home
