Vernon married Basil (Spires) Griffin on November 28, 1987 at Hoisington, KS.
He served during WW II, in the U.S. Navy.
A Salina, Kansas resident since 2000 coming from Hoisington, KS, Vernon was a member of the Hoisington Bible Church and recently attended Salina Bible Church. Before retirement, he was a supervisor for Northern Natural Gas, Bushton, KS.

Four sisters: Irene Milbradt of Topeka, KS, Lily Unruh of Georgetown, TX, Ruby Nightengale of Montezuma, KS, and Virginia Yost of McPherson, KS
Eight grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren, Three Great Grandchildren
Vernon is also survived by Basil’s children: Lloyd Pinon and wife Jolana of Topeka, Steve Griffin and wife Kayla of Salina, KS, Becky Townsley and husband Gary of Minneapolis, MN, Beverly “Jo” Plinsky and husband Don of Grand Island, NE, Bonny Wohlcke of Westminster, CO, and Belva Prins and husband Dave of Waseca, MN.
Vernon is also survived by Basil’s Sixteen Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in passing by one daughter, Gauvayhna Davis, and a brother, Dennis Jantz
