He was a United States Army veteran.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend.

Ten Grandchildren: Garrett Campbell, Emerson Campbell, Trista Garard, Nikki Blake, Sarah Schwartz, Sabrina Campbell, Savana Campbell, Evan Campbell, Anna Campbell, and Katie Schlochtermeier
Three Great-grandchildren: Braiden Hertel, Liam Schwartz, Logan Hertel, and another due this year.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Emerson Campbell.
