He was a 1977 graduate of Macksville High School and graduated from Barton County Community College, Emporia State University and the University of Kansas.

He was a custodian for the Lee’s Summit School District.

Mr. Bowman was a longtime Kansas City area resident.

He was a member of New Jerusalem Church, Pawnee Rock, and was a former member of the Argonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps, Great Bend. He was an avid KU fan.
