Clarence F. “Clare” Zecha, 84, died April 11, 2016, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. He was born Nov. 18, 1931, on the farm near Odin, Kansas, the son of William B. and Frances (Frenzl) Zecha. Clarence served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, stationed in Korea and Japan. A lifetime resident of the Odin area, he was a farmer and a stockman. Clarence also worked for the Independent Township and served as a board member for many years.

On October 2, 1957, he married Eleanor A. Zorn, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin.
Clarence was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council #2630.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Zecha and a daughter, Sharon and her husband Mike; three sisters, Matilda Penka of Wilson, KS, Lucille Schneweis of Wichita, KS, and Doris Weiser of Hoisington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Raymond, Robert, Victor, Herman and Francis Zecha; and four sisters, Eleanor Johanning, Helen Straub, Kathleen Zecha, and Agnes Penka.

Vigil with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Don Bedore and Father Pascal Klein. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Claflin Ambulance Fund, or Clara Barton Hospital Foundation.
