She married Lorain Bartonek June 2, 1954 at Olmitz, KS. He died February 20, 1993.
She was a graduate of St. Ann High School, and attended Sacred Heart College in Wichita.
A lifetime resident of Olmitz, Genny had been a stocker and door greeter for Wal-Mart, Great Bend, from 1985-2004. In her earlier employment, along with being a committed farm wife, Genny was a teacher for a rural school district, encompassing 5 schools. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, Daughters of Isabella, and the Altar Society. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and above all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and was known for her kindness, generosity, gentleness, and devotion to her Church and God.

12 grandchildren: Nancy Tyler, Katie Erker, Mark Bartonek, Shaun Bartonek, Brett Thompson, Amy Leiker, Emily Laskowski, Denise Zink, Beth Schneider, Justus Bartonek, Demi Bartonek, and Danica Bartonek.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sylvester Axman, Leonard Axman, and Max W. Axman; and by one sister, Maggie Wirtz.
