GREAT BEND — Joe Harold Spears, 54, died Sept. 24, 2016, at Great Bend. He was born Feb. 27, 1962, at Yuma, Ariz., the son of John Leo and Helen (West) Spears. He married Sheryl Miller April 1 at Great Bend.

He was a truck driver and owned and operated J & S Handyman Service. Mr. Spears was a Great Bend resident since 2005, coming from Mesa, Ariz. He enjoyed truck driving, camping, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Spears; one son, James David Miller and his wife Chelesa of Hoisington; one daughter, Amanda Wilson and Michael Kramer of Ellinwood; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Jacque Fowler of Great Bend; several brothers and sisters and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Mark Spears.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Joiner officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to Joe Spears Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
