ALBERT – Carl Anthony Jilg, 94, died Oct. 30, 2016, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. Born June 13, 1922 at Olmitz, he was the son of Joseph and Christina (Schenk) Jilg. He married Teresa Marie Bahr Aug. 20, 1946 at Olmitz. A lifetime Albert resident, he was employed by the Albert Coop for 43 years. Mr. Jilg was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council #2100, both of Olmitz and Albert Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Jilg, of Great Bend; two daughters: Susan Worthen and her husband Lane of McKinney, Texas, and Eileen Walcher of Great Bend; one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Gross of Wichita; four grandchildren, Jeff Worthen, Michelle Schindler, Bryan Worthen and Billy Brown, II; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Aaron Jilg, Paul Jilg and Jack Jilg, two sisters, Leona Gerritzen and Sr. Anastasia Jilg, and one granddaughter, Christina Brown.

Vigil Service with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Olmitz with Father Anselm Eke and Father Ultan Murphy concelebrating. Burial with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Olmitz. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been established with Albert Fire Department or St. Ann Catholic Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
