GREAT BEND — Robert Dean Leon, 66, died July 18, 2017, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend. He was born Jan. 1, 1951, at Great Bend, the son of Sextos G. and Irene (Weiss) Leon. A lifetime Great Bend resident, Mr. Leon worked in the laundry at Central Kansas Medical Center and was a dishwasher at the Golden Belt Country Club.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Bobbie Leon of Great Bend, and Richard Joe Leon of Salina; two sisters, Juanita Clawson of Great Bend, and Carolyn Rucker of Pampa, Texas; one half-brother, Lawrence Leon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one half-sister, Eloise Leon of Colorado Springs, Colo. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Benny Leon and Tony Leon, and five sisters, Gloria Leon, Dorothy Cannon, Diana Larkin, Barbara Ann Leon and Petra Leon.
Vigil will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Ted Stoecklein celebrating. Burial will be in Golden Belt Memorial Park, Great Bend. Friends may call from 1-9 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Holy Family School Endowment Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
