On Saturday, February 24  at about 10:06 a.m. the Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury accident on Kansas Highway 96 near milepost 169.

Upon arrival deputies discovered a white, 2000 Buick Park Avenue that had rolled. Investigation at the scene indicates the driver, Hannah Pechanec, age 18 of Timken, Kansas had left the roadway and overcorrected. The vehicle went into skid and overturned 2 ½ times.

Pechanec and a passenger in the vehicle identified, as Dylan Blanchard, 18 of Great Bend, Kansas both received minor injuries. Pechanec and Blanchard were transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital with non-life- threatening injuries.

The Great Bend Fire Department and EMS service assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
