GREAT BEND – Barbara J. Gumbir, 77, passed away July 13, 2018, at her home. She was born December 6, 1940 to Jay and Edith Chambers. She married Martin Edmond Gumbir, August 15, 1964, at Great Bend. He died December 23, 1997.

Barbara was a Great Bend resident for most of her life. She worked at Wal-Mart for many years as a stock receiver.

Survivors include, one daughter, Marilyn and husband Kyle Morrison of Salina; one brother, Jerry Chambers of New York; sister in law, Ramona Chambers; two nieces, Glenda Schroth of Joplin, Missouri and Sandra Sharpe of Marysville, Washington, and a nephew, Gary Chambers of Goodman, Missouri; a great niece, Kyra Hughes and great nephew, Brandon Schroth. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Benny Chambers.

No visitation will take place and Graveside Service will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Great Bend Cemetery, with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Foundation, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
