Ruth Darlene Barker

Larned – Ruth Darlene Barker, 85, passed away May 28, 2015, at Diveriscare of Larned.

She was born February 6, 1930 at Viola, Missouri: the daughter of Thomas and Ann May Ryder Martin. She was a Restaurant Cook for the Don Do café before retiring.

On October 5, 1949 she married Charles Darrel Barker at Carthage, Missouri. He passed away on August 7, 1981.

She was a longtime area resident, She attended the Nazarene Church, and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Larned.

Survivors include: one daughter Connie (Jerry) Goeckel, Larned; one son Freddie (Anita) Barker, Larned; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Clyde, Clifford, Doc, George and Ben Martin; three sisters, Susie Penn, Gertie McComas, Gladys Veach, a granddaughter Lorie Lee and two great-great grandsons.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the Larned Cemetery, Larned; with the Pastor David Collins presiding. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday with family present from 6-8p.m. Monday, at the Beckwith Mortuary, Larned; Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
