Carol S. Warrick, 100, died Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Pawnee County Community Hospital, Larned, Kansas. He was born December 25, 1914, in Blair, Nebraska, the son of Neum and Blanche D. (Peck) Warrick.
Carol was a WWII veteran serving in the Aleutian Islands with the United States Army as a Sergeant and Squad Leader.
A longtime resident of Hoisington, he was a farmer. Carol was a member of the American Legion and a 4-H Leader for the Eureka Homesteaders Club. He was a member of the former Vine United Methodist Church where he was a trustee and served the church in many ways.
On April 21, 1946, he married Lois Stoskopf in Hoisington, Kansas. She died May 11, 1998.
Survivors include; son, Ken Warrick and wife Dianna of Branson, MO; daughter, Jan Smith and husband Max of Lewis, KS, daughter-in-law, Pricilla Warrick of Chickasha, OK; three grandchildren, Sara Warrick of Spring Hill, KS, Aaron Warrick and wife Natalie of Larned, KS, and April Dodrill of Branson, MO; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Tym Warrick, seven brothers, six sisters and a great grandson.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Cariker presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington City Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
