He married Nila Jean Diel April 18, 1954 at Otis, Kansas.

He was senior application engineer for Diesel Equipment Co., Great Bend beginning in 1955 and transferred with the company in 1966 to Wichita, which later became Central Power Systems.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7428, Hoisington, and American Legion Post #99, Russell.  His hobby was clock making.

Wife: Nila Jean Elsasser, of the home

one son: Leon Elsasser and his wife Wendy of Wichita, KS

one daughter: Lois Dailey and her husband Wayne of Joplin, MO

Grandchildren: Six

Great-grandchild: One

one brother: Larry Elsasser and his wife Bonnie of Russell, KS

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Leroy Elsasser.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, Kansas

Visitation:  9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home
