Stafford County Hospital’s Fate Could Lie in a Petition

The fate of the Stafford County Hospital could lie in a petition circulating the county that if passed, would require a vote asking patrons if the Hospital could receive no-fund warrants from the county. The hospital has asked Stafford County to assist them in paying off some of the hospital’s debt accrued over the years by offering no-fund warrants in the amount of 555,000 dollars. Stafford County Hospital Administrator Todd Taylor.

TAYLOR-US TO SURVIVE by Matt Unruh

Taylor said that time is of the essence for the hospital, and if there is a vote for the no-fund warrants, that stalls their efforts to pay off their debts another 60 days, which would make it difficult to sustain the hospital. Taylor said they have already made significant cuts at the hospital, cutting back from 68 employees to 51. He said they should know more about the situation later this week.
