The Barton Community College softball team opened the 2012 season today at Cougar Fields with a pair of losses to Cloud County Community College.

The Cougars pounded out ten hits in game one but stranded eleven base runners in losing 7-3.  In game two the Cougars committed five errors as Cloud scored at least two runs in each of the first four innings to close out the doubleheader 10-0 in five innings.

Barton will return to the field in less than forty-eight hours as they travel to Pratt Community College for a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader.
