Pawnee County is caught right in the middle of the redistricting plans in Kansas. Kim Barnes is the Legislative Spokesperson for Pawnee County, and he says that in July, the Pawnee County Commission adopted a letter asking for the entire county to be placed in one house district and one senate district. Barnes said there’s even been talk of splitting Pawnee County in the US Congressional District, putting parts of the County in the 1st and the 4th district.

Pawnee County has been in the 36th Senate district, and Barnes said that will likely change, putting the entire county in the 33rd Senate district. He says the county was split in the Kansas House of Representatives in the last redistricting, placing the eastern half of the county is in the 114th district, while the western half is in the 117th district.
