Florence Marie Clayton Doze

Florence Marie Clayton Doze passed from this life November 25, 2015 in Wichita. Flo was born in Kingman, KS on January 19, 1938 to Harry and Blanche (Wallace) Clayton. She was a long time resident of Barton County, KS where she raised her family. Flo worked as a dispatcher most of her adult life first in the oilfield then later for Barton County Sheriff ‘s office where she retired in 1998. After her retirement she spent her time helping others. She volunteered for both Barton County Youth Home and the Hoisington Girls Home (Logan Haus) and spent many years working with the Kansas Guardianship Program and as a Poll Worker for the Barton County Election Board.

Flo was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Elwood (Woody) Doze, brothers, Dale Clayton, Harold Clayton, sister Phyllis Fellers and grandson, William Hobdy.

She is survived by children; Denton (Marcina) Doze, of Hurley, MS, Kenton (Teri) Doze, of Hoisington and daughter, Rowena Clark of Stafford. She has one sister, Barbara (Kenny) Sowers of Kingman. Flo had 11 grandchildren and 17 great grand children and 2 great-great grandchildren whom she loved to play with and spoil.

Arrangements will be cremation and a private graveside service with internment at Waterloo Cemetery, Kingman County, KS.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Sunflower Diversified Foundation or Rosewood Services Roots and Wings Endowment in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, P.O. Box 146, Hoisington, KS 67544.
