She was born Gwini Collette Graham on August 27, 1951 at Scott City, Kansas – the second of three girls born to John F. and Elaine Maxine (Shearmire) Graham. The family moved to Great Bend when Gwini was two years old, and from an early age she grew up in the restaurant industry.  She lived in various places until 1975 when she moved back home to Great Bend, where she took on a ready-made family of a father and his three sons.  Gwini was truly Heaven-sent. She and her future husband Frank Delgado had a son Mark Weeser Delgado. After ten years together the couple was married on January 8, 1986 at Winter Park, Colorado.  Gwini was co-founder and owner of Kiowa Kitchen Restaurant at Great Bend, Kansas in 1978. She was a Past Madame President and longtime member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #646 Auxiliary of Great Bend, Kansas. Gwini loved the outdoors and snow skiing, and was an avid fisherman.  She fished the Rocky Mountains from northern Montana to southern Colorado.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Delgado of Great Bend, Kansas; two daughters from previous marriages: Julie A. (and her husband, Robert) Fedosh of Moore, Oklahoma and Dawn D. Buss of McPherson, Kansas; one son, Mark W. (and his wife, Shannon) Delgado of Edmond, Oklahoma; two stepsons: T. Aaron (and his wife, LeAnne) Delgado of Great Bend, Kansas and David D. Delgado of Larned, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers:  Rick (and his wife, Johnnie Lee) Francis of Manhattan, Kansas and Todd (and his wife, Linda) Francis of Great Bend, Kansas; three step-brothers:  Michael (and his wife, Barbara) Grover of St. Francis, Kansas, Dan (and his wife, Lenora) Grover of Hays, Kansas, and Sylvan (and his wife, Sharon) Grover of Brownwood, Texas; four sisters:  Penny (and her husband, Gary) Meintner and Sheena Thomas of Great Bend, Kansas and Mavis (and her husband, Dana) Vinsonhaler and Tawana (and her husband, Todd) Berens of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one step-sister, Cheri (and her husband, Leroy) Weese of Chanute, Kansas. There is not enough newsprint to list her many, many friends.  Gwini was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather (Clarence Grover); one step-son, Curtis L. Delgado; one granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Delgado-Harris; and one brother, Nava Rolli Graham.  Rest in peace, our beautiful lady.

It was Gwini’s wishes to be cremated following her death.  A Memorial Service will be held in the near future at a date to be determined.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.  Online condolences may be left for the family and a complete obituary notice may be viewed at https://www.charterfunerals.com/locations/great-bend.php.
