OBITUARY INFORMATION

She married Thorne M. Schaffter in September 1935. She then married Loren M. “Swede” Nelson February 29, 1964 at Great Bend, Kansas.  He died August 4, 1991.

She was a long-time Security State Bank employee.

Mrs. Nelson was a lifetime area resident.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, American Legion Auxiliary, Soroptomist, and Central Kansas Council of Girl Scouts.

one daughter: Thorene Turner of Hemet, CA

Three Grandchildren: Doug Turner, Bro. Luke Turner and Linda Turner

Two Great-grandchildren: Sylvia Turner and Daniel Turner

She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Koehler and one great-granddaughter, Stephanie Turner.

 

SERVICE INFORMATION

Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil Service with Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Ted Stoecklein celebrating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Benedictine Monastery or Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
