On Monday, the Memorial Parks Advisory Committee in Barton County announced they’ve begun fundraising efforts for the Golden Belt Memorial Park Veterans’ Memorial. The purpose of the Veterans’ Memorial is to honor any military Veteran that has ties to Barton County. The Memorial Parks Advisory Committee will soon be distributing a brochure with information on the memorial, and ways to donate. Mick Lang is the Chair of the Memorial Parks Advisory Committee.

The project will primarily be funded by donations, and work won’t begin on the Memorial until a proper amount of funds have been raised. The Advisory Committee has discussed possibly selling memorial bricks for further fundraising after the project is fully funded for continued maintenance on the Memorial. The Barton County Commission approved the funding drive for the Golden Belt Memorial Park Veterans’ Memorial.
