Larned – Kerri A. (Broughton) Laing, 61, passed away March 21, 2016 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.

She was born October 20, 1954 in Hoisington, Kansas; the daughter of Jack and LaDene Brewer Broughton. A longtime area resident; she worked at the Larned State Hospital.

On October 24, 2004 she married Bryan Elden Laing in Larned. He survives.

Other survivors include; her father, Jack, Dodge City; two sons, Chris Laing, Topeka and Ryan McQuitty, Burleson, Texas; five daughters, Shawna Wilder, Larned, Chantay Hadley, Emporia, Elisha Halbert, Caldwell, Rachael Bell, Canadian, Texas and Laree Laing, Larned; three brothers, Ronald Broughton, Owasso, Oklahoma, Jack E. Broughton, New Orleans, LA and Kevin Broughton, Winnsboro, Texas; two sisters, LeeAnn Castaneda, Springfield, Missouri and Lisa Broughton, Topeka; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by; her mother; a brother, Everett Broughton and a grandson, Jameson McQuitty.

Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor LeRoy Lyon presiding. Friends may sign the register Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, Fort Dodge, Kansas at a later date.
