Larned – Barbara J. Manka, 75, passed away October 2, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Wilson, Kansas.

She was born December 5, 1940 in Larned; the daughter of John F. and Edna Firestone Arnold. A lifetime area resident she was a switch board operator for the Larned State Hospital and also worked at Southwestern Bell.

She was of the Christian faith, loved to bowl and was a member of an organized card club.

Survivors include; three sons, James (Tammy Warrick), Larned, Robert (Tauni), Great Bend, and Greg (Veronica), Overland Park; a daughter, Susan (Steve) Vondracek, Dorrance; four brothers, Jim Arnold, El Paso, TX, Ron (Sharon) Arnold, Larned, John Arnold, Grapevine, TX and Larry (Earlene) Arnold, Great Bend; two sisters, Marie Walker, El Paso, TX and Ruth (Wendall) Bronson, Del Rio, TX; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by; a granddaughter, Georgia Fletcher.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary chapel with David Arnold presiding. Cremation has taken place.
