Verna J. Riemann, 90, died November 9, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society, Ellsworth, Kansas. She was born January 13, 1927, in Wilson, Kansas, the daughter of Vincent A. and Josephine F. (Tymer) Pejsha. Verna graduated from Wilson High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University.
On May 26, 1952, she married Vernon J. Riemann, in Dallas, Texas.
Verna worked as a teller for the First National Bank in Hoisington and also as a teacher for 7th and 8th Grade in Holyrood.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Hoisington.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Vernon J. Riemann; a daughter, Michelle B. Kunz and husband Dale of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and good friends, Curtis and Kathy Hitschmann of Hoisington.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Richard Pejsha.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Don Fisher presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington City Cemetery. Friends may call 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel with family to receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
