REBA N. RICHTER
Reba N. Richter, age 85 years, of Ellinwood, Kansas and formerly of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away at the Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood on Monday morning, September 17, 2012. She was born on July 21, 1927 at Great Bend to James and Hazel (Selle) Christensen. She attended school in Great Bend, where she was a resident for most of her life. She was united in marriage to Virgil Richter in 1955, and they later divorced. In years past, Reba worked for Bell Telephone as an Operator for several years and later worked for Fuller Brush Company for a number of years. She enjoyed raising sheep, and over the years attended both the First United Methodist and the First Assembly of God churches in Great Bend.
Survivors include her daughter, Ginger Riordan of Great Bend, Kansas and three grandchildren: Erin, Evan, and Hunter Riordan. Reba was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel (Selle) Christensen, her former husband Virgil Richter, her daughter, Anita Fitzgerald in 1960, her son, Jeffrey Richter in 1963, and one sister, Oletha Wendt.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Charter Funerals in Great Bend, Kansas with Pastor Dwight Dozier officiating. Inurnment will be in the LakinCommanche District Cemetery at Ellinwood, Kansas. There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has already taken place.
