Wichita State President Set To Step Down

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) – Wichita State University president Don Beggs plans to resign from the school.

Wichita State said in a news release Monday that Beggs will resign once the Kansas Board of Regents finds a successor, who is expected to be in place by next summer.

The 70-year-old Beggs has been Wichita State’s president since January 1999.

The Wichita Eagle reports that Beggs is Wichita State’s 12th president in the history of WSU. He came to Wichita from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where he served two years as interim chancellor.
