Robert Griffin III had not thrown an interception the entire season but it was the first one he threw late in the 4th quarter Saturday against K-State that he will want back. Authur Brown picked off a Griffon pass that led to a 31-yard field goal with 4:33 left by Anthony Cantele that led Kansas State to a 36-35 win over the 15th ranked Bears at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
Brown also came up with a big sack of Griffon on the Bears ensuing possession as the Wildcats held Baylor on four downs that allowed the Wildcats to run out the clock and get the win.
The Wildcats (4-0 1-0) trailed 35-26 entering the 4th quarter before driving 55-yards in 15-plays to make it a two point game on a 1-yard run by Colln Klein with 7:00 left. Griffin then threw in the interception on the Bears (3-1 0-1) next possession which set up Cantele’s field goal.
Collin Klein once again led the K-State offense, rushing for 114 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown. He also completed 13-27 passes for 146 yards.
Griffon III passed for five touchdowns and 334 yards but again the interception was the key play in the game.
Kansas State is back home next Saturday to face the Missouri Tigers.
