DeBolt Family makes statement after Longoria Preliminary Hearing

After Judge Hannalore Kitts ruled that Adam Longoria would be bound for trial on charges of Capital Murder of Alicia DeBolt, and the Kansas Attorney General’s decision not to pursue the death penalty in the case, the family of Alicia DeBolt made a statement outside the Barton County Courthouse yesterday. Dawn DeBolt is the sister of Alicia DeBolt, and she spoke on behalf of the family.

Kevin O’Connor with the Kansas Attorney General’s Office gave an brief explanation during the Preliminary Hearing as to why they are not longer pursuing the death penalty in the case.

The DeBolt family did not take any questions following the statement. The family was in attendance throughout the preliminary hearing in Barton County District Court on Wednesday and Thursday. No other court dates have been scheduled at this time.
