Oklahoma State Pounds Kansas 70-28

Let it be known that Kansas actually led Oklahoma State Saturday in Stillwater 7-0.  After that it was a Cowboy track meet.  OSU scored 56 straight unanswered points to take a 56-7 halftime lead in crushing the Jayhawks 70-28 at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Cowboys rolled up 603 yards of total offense against an overmatched KU defense that entered the game giving up an NCAA worst 44 points per game. Quarterback Brandon Weeden threw for five touchdowns as he completed 24-28 passes for 289 yards before being removed in the 2nd half with the game in hand.

Kansas continued to be able to move the ball on offense racking up 479 yards of total offense led by quarterback Jordan Webb who passed for 318 yards and two scores.  Webb hit Tedd Biere on a 10-yard touchdown pass with 11:51 left in the first quarter that put KU in the lead 7-0.  But then the Cowboy onslaught began and OSU was on their way to a 5-0 start.  Kansas loses for the third straight time and drops to 2-3.

Kansas host Oklahoma in Lawrence next Sunday.
