OBITUARY INFORMATION

 

Married Victoria Kay Shoemaker March 9, 1965 at Newton, Kansas. 

He began working as a lineman in 1965 for Central Kansas Electric Cooperative, which then became Midwest Energy, Inc.  He climbed the ranks as serviceman, staking engineer and community representative, retiring from Midwest Energy in 2008 after forty-two years of service.

Mr. Berryman was a Great Bend, Kansas, resident since 1965 coming from Newton, Kansas.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, StoneRidge Golf Club, Golden Belt Community Foundation Board of Directors, Cougar Booster Club, Panther Booster Club, and 4th of July Committee.  He served on the board and was an ambassador for Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, was co-chairman of the 3i Show in Great Bend, served on the Great Bend City Council, and was named Citizen of the Year in 2006.

Wife: Vicki Berryman, of the home

One Son: William Layne Berryman of Cedar Rapids, IA

One Daughter: Darci Reneé Berryman Blum of Manhattan, KS

Three Grandchildren: Jotni Berryman Pankey, Kialy Berryman, and Jaedyn Berryman

One Great-grandchild: Coranda Pankey

Dog:  Velvet

 

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Steele and Betty Leyerly.
