During World War II, she was a rivetor at Boeing, Chicago. She was a homemaker and telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, was a nurse aide at Central Kansas Medical Center and retired from Dart-In.
Mrs. Wells was a Great Bend resident since 1940 coming from LaCrosse, Kansas.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was an avid walker, loved crossword puzzles, and current events.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Popp, Elmer Popp, Richard Popp; and two sisters, Alma Lech and Virginia Azzaro.

Private funeral services were conducted Monday, July 15, 2013. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Great Bend Cemetery.
