Parts of Northeast Great Bend felt the effects of a short power outage Wednesday morning. Mark Kircher is the Area Supervisor for Wheatland Electric. He said the power outage happened at breaker 28 at bypass sub-station, with a bad cut-out on a compositor bank that opened the breaker at the sub-station, due to the decay of the equipment.
Kircher said the power outage affected the area between Main Street and the 281 Bypass, and between 24th street and 10th street in Great Bend, effecting nearly 700 customers. The power went out at 9:04am Wednesday morning, lasting 10 minutes before Wheatland Electric crews restored power.
