OBITUARY INFORMATION

Married Leon F. Sanders September 6, 1958 at Great Bend, Kansas.  He died January 3, 1997. She then married Paul D. Hazen January 19, 2002 at Great Bend, Kansas. He died December 20, 2012.

She was Deli Queen for Dillons until her retirement.

Mrs. Hazen was a Great Bend, Kansas resident since 1975 coming from Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altar Society, life VFW Auxiliary, and Women’s Bible Study Group. She loved bingo, slot machines, and Kansas City Chiefs football.

two sons: Donald W. Sanders of Great Bend, KS, Daniel Sanders and his wife Jane of Sterling, CO

one daughter: Cheryl L. Matas and her husband Rich of Orange, CA

three sisters: Mae Brown of Great Bend, KS, Marie Kern of Great Bend, KS, Joyce Stout of Great Bend, KS

one brother: Curtis Clawson of Great Bend, KS

two grandchildren: Douglas W. Moore of Orange, CA; Brenton D. Moore of Orange, CA

two step sons: Donald “Doc” Hazen and his wife Carol of Fort Meyers, FL; and Keith Hazen and his wife Beth of Dodge City, KS

one step daughter: Connie Roth and her husband John of Ellinwood, KS

 

She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Sanders, one daughter, Linda Sanders, one brother, Ralph Clawson, and one step daughter, Sharlene Kay Yager.

Vigil Service: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend

Interment: Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas

Visitation:  9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home
