He was an oilfield pumper and producer for Ritchie Exploration and other oil companies.
Mr. Cain was a lifetime Great Bend, Kansas resident.
He served in the Army Reserve.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend; Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association (KIOGA), and Hoisington Stop-2-Shop Coffee Club. Mr. Cain quietly supported many organizations, requesting no recognition, including REACH and Pheasants Forever.

He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Dale Perry.
