OBITUARY INFORMATION

A Great Bend resident the past year and a half, living in Denver, Colo. for fifty years, Mr. Zecha was an auto mechanic for Montgomery Ward, retiring in 1990. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during World War II.

He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend. He was a fine example of charity to almost everyone he met, befriending numerous persons in need throughout his life. He was an animal lover, especially dogs.

 

SURVIVORS

two brothers: Norbert Zecha of Portland, Ore., and Bernard Zecha of Cheyenne, Wyo.

four sisters: Marcella “Sally” Vink, Clarissa Blessing, and Bernice Henderson, all of Great Bend, Kan., and Ethel Ricker of Nashville, Kan.

many nieces and nephews

 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin Zecha and Norman Zecha.

 

SERVICE INFORMATION

Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Louis Trung Dinh Hoang celebrating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, Kan., with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Prince of Peace Parish or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
