She married Henry Franklin Irving August 23, 1956 at Berwyn, Pa. They later divorced. She then married Tom Bonham August 9, 1991 at Great Bend, Kansas.  He died March 4, 1995.

She was a paraprofessional for Helping Hands Preschool and Head Start.

Mrs. Bonham was a Great Bend resident since 1976 coming from Allentown, Pennsylvania.

She attended the Bible Holiness Church, Great Bend, and volunteered for the foster grandparent program. She enjoyed reading, working in her rose garden, and puzzle books.

Greg Schulte, 55, died February 10, 2016, at his home in Claflin.
He was born June 14, 1960, in Pratt, Kansas, the son of August & Barbara (Parr) Schulte.
Greg graduated from Russell High School. He worked in the Meat Department at Bailey’s Food Bin for the past 11 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved his son’s sports.

He is survived by; his wife of 20 years, Denise Schulte; five sons, Nathan Schulte and companion Tiffany Putz of Hays, Brent Schulte and wife Sara of Omaha, Jake Schulte and wife Faryn of Manhattan, Jarett Schulte and wife Lesa of Ness City, and Trey Schulte of Claflin; a sister, Susan Regensberg and Wes of Hugoton; a nephew, David Gier; a grandson, Logan Schulte and three more grandbabies on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Barbara Schulte; and a sister, Debbie Gier.

Per Greg’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family would like to invite friends to join them in an informal luncheon at the Claflin United Methodist Church on Friday, February 12, 2016, from 12 to 3 p.m., to share stories and celebrate Greg’s life.

Emoreta P. ‘Emma’ Funk

Mrs. Funk was born December 28, 1929, in Cassville, Missouri, the daughter of Andrew and Loral (Stockton) Carterman. She was a longtime resident of Barton County, Kansas, and Rush County, Kansas, moving to Kansas in 1949 from Missouri. A graduate of Cassville High School, Cassville, Missouri, she received her Bachelor’s Degree from Bolivia College, Springfield, Missouri. She was a teacher and dental assistant before her retirement.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, Kansas.

On February 7, 1950, she married Herbert W. Funk at Milberger, Kansas. He preceded her in death May 4, 1998.

Survivors include: one daughter in law, Donna Funk, rural Otis, Kansas; three grandchildren, Don Sommers (Sandra), Phillip Funk (Jessica), and Jamie Buehler (Heath); six great grandchildren, Danielle Herl, Amelia Sommers, Gregory Sommers, Christian Funk, Zoey Funk, and Colt Buehler; one great great grandson, Weston Herl; one brother, Roy Carterman, Midwest City, Oklahoma; and one sister, Imogene Kamees, Auburn, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, James L. Funk; an infant child; two brothers, Jacob Carterman, and Joseph Carterman; and one sister, Irene Carterman.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2016, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Church visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2016, from 9:00 A.M. to 9:50 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, Kansas.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 12, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, Kansas, with Pastor Bruce Adamson officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Township Cemetery, Galatia, Kansas.

LARNED- Johnetta Belle Patterson, 80, passed away February 3, 2016, at Diversicare of Larned.

She was born July 11, 1935, in Larned, the daughter of John Arthur Caro, and Bernice Maxine Smith. She was Receiving Clerk & Manager for Skaggs Osco Drug Store.

She was a member of: The CME/Methodist Church, Cleaves Memorial Mass Choir, Usher Board, Missionary Society, Zeta America Social of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and Just Us Social Club.

On August 1, 1954, she married Clarence Patrick Patterson in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include: Two sons; Jeffery Lane and Linda Patterson, Larned, Patrick Arthur and Krista Patterson, Denver, CO., two brothers; Lowell Marvin Caro, Las Vegas, NV, Nolan Lane Caro, Larned, Five Grandchildren, and Four Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna Louise Robinson.

Kenneth enjoyed fishing, and was known for his marksmanship. Kenneth was loved by all of his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
