He was a very honest, humble man. He loved watching his son grow, along with making unforgettable memories with his loved ones. A Great Bend, Kansas resident since 1993, coming from Otis, Ron owned and operated Ochs, Inc., of Otis.  In his retirement, he enjoyed substituting for U.S.D. 428, gardening, and woodworking.

He served in the U.S. Air Force earning the rank of Airman 2nd Class.

Ron was a charter member of Grace Community Church of Great Bend, where he served as an elder and assisted with the Awana children’s ministry.  He was instrumental in the implementation of the Otis E.M.S. in 1972, and was past president of both the Rush County Memorial Hospital board and Youthville.  Ron served as past president of Western Farm Implement Dealers Association, and a member of Lionel Collectors Club of America.
