He married Delores June Schenkel July 14, 1946 at Bazine, Kansas.  She died April 28, 2015.

He was an engineering technician for Evans, Bierly, and Hutchison.

Mr. Steadman was a lifetime Great Bend, Kansas resident.

Mr. Steadman was a United States Army Air Corps veteran, serving with the 8th Air Force during World War II in the European Theater.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Argonne Post 180, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3111, B. P. O. Elks Lodge #1127, and Order of Eastern Star Golden Sheaf Chapter #226, all of Great Bend.

Beatrice (Bea) Faye Seba

Seba, BeaLarned – Beatrice (Bea) Faye Seba, long time resident of Larned and Pawnee Co., died June 18, 2015 at Via Christi Village in Hays, KS.

Bea was born to Abram and Alyce Amber (Stewart) Amrine on Sept. 18, 1925 in Kinsley, KS. On Aug. 11, 1943 she married Leonard Loyd Seba. He died July 21, 1998.

Bea attended Kinsley schools until, as a young girl, the family moved to a farm south of Garfield and later into the city of Garfield. She then attended Garfield Schools and graduated in 1943. She worked for the United States Postal Service for many years retiring as Postmistress at Belpre, KS in 1983. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Larned, United Methodist Women, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Garfield Legion Auxiliary, Jolly Circle card club and the DOC campers.

Bea was a kind and loving person who dearly loved her family, most particularly her grandchildren and great-grand children. She was an excellent seamstress, making many of her own clothes.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard, sisters Claribel Pulliam, Ruth Kirchgassner, Darlene Amrine, and Margaret Corinne Ingrum, and brother Abram Amrine Jr.

She is survived by two sons. Leonard Eugene (Gene) Seba and wife Jan of Victoria, KS and Larry R. Seba and wife Betty of Pueblo West, CO. Four grandchildren, Brian Seba and wife Jacie and their children Katelyn and Macy of Belle Plaine, KS. Rita Baxa and husband Lawrence and their children Kaleb and Isaac of Ingalls, KS, Amber Seba-Seggerman and husband Rob of Chicago, IL. and Brooke Roberts and Husband Chris and their children Cole, Cade, and Emory of Colorado Springs, CO. Also surviving are brother in law Victor Ingrum of Branson, MO and sister-in-law Marjorie Seba of Garden City, KS. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.

She was a United States Navy veteran.

Reinhardt F. “Ron” Feil, age 84 years, longtime Great Bend resident, passed away at his home in Great Bend on Monday evening, June 15, 2015.  Ron was born on November 20, 1930 at Olmitz, Kansas to Reinhardt and Rosie (Suchy) Feil.  He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1949 and served as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division from 1949 through 1952.  Ron was united in marriage to Ruby Simpson on June 1, 1954 at Lyons, Kansas.  The couple lived in Riverside, California, where they owned and operated a Valu-Rite Pharmacy for ten years, after which Ron worked as a Deputy for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at Riverside, California for eight years.  They moved back to their hometown of Great Bend in 1997.  Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, horse racing and auto racing, and adored his beloved dog, Maxie.  Ron was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church at Great Bend, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Feil of Great Bend, Kansas; one son, Michael Feil of Great Bend, Kansas; three daughters:  Cheryl (and her husband, Tom) Blasque of Riverside, California, Cynthia Rose Broyles of Great Bend, Kansas, and Christina (and her husband, Marshall) Davis of Corona, California; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Orland and Harold), and four sisters (Irene, Helen, Leola, and Rosemary).

According to his wishes, cremation has been chosen.  There will be no viewing or visitation. She was born June 23, 1961 in Great Bend, the daughter of Donald H. and Mary L. Powell Matthews. A Larned resident for the last 30 years, she was a Homemaker.

She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include; her father; a son, Henry Ostrander, Larned and a daughter, Vicki Ostrander, Great Bend; three sisters, Marcella White, Great Bend, Joyce Espinosa, Ellinwood, Linda Krom, Bonney Lake, Washington and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

Helen R. Templing, 86, died June 16, 2015, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation, Great Bend. She was born January 31, 1929, the daughter of Alexander Lanier and Velma (Campbell) Chambers. Helen graduated from Otis Rural High School in 1946 and then attended Fort Hays State College.

Helen was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the Emmanuel Women of the E.L.C.A. She was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary # 7428.

A longtime resident of Hoisington, Helen was a homemaker.

On October 18, 1953, she married Edwin D. Templing in Hoisington, Kansas. He died May 25, 2007.

Survivors include: a daughter, Rhonda Templing of Hoisington; and a brother, Donald L. Chambers & wife Betty of Los Angeles, California; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Templing) Justice Whitaker of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; cousin, Mae Carolyn Bopp of St. Louis, Missouri; seven nieces and nephews and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with Reverends Richard Monson and Laura Smith presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. A prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Diana R. (Luse) Scheuerman, age 52 years, of Great Bend, Kansas, went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, May 31, 2015 at the Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend, Kansas.  Diana was born on August 19, 1962 at the old St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, Kansas.  Her parents are the late Bert Anthony Luse Jr. and Ida Marie Crider Luse. Grandparents were the late Raymond and Gladys Crider and Bert Luse, Sr. and Minnie Luse.  She was a lifelong resident of Great Bend.

Diana graduated from Great Bend High School in 1980 and from Barton County Community College Academy of Beauty in 1981. She was formerly employed by Shear Expressions and Barton County until she suffered a stroke in 2004.  She married Tim Scheuerman on May 8, 1981 and they later divorced.  Diana was an avid lover of animals and rescued many cats and dogs from extinction and could not bear to have animals homeless or abused.

Survivors include her mother, Marie Luse and her uncle, Richard Luse, both of Great Bend, Kansas; cousins:  Cheryl (Dave) Beesley of Darien, Illinois; Dionne (Mike) Oldenburg of Alpine, California; Brennen Rivera; Michael, Eric, Jake, and Sean Beesley; Arleen Whittaker of Great Bend, Kansas; Sheryl (Mike) Butler of Hays, Kansas; Michelle (Doug) Benoit of Esbon, Kansas; Kelsey (Ethan) Beale of Wichita, Kansas; Ashley Butler of Hays, Kansas; McKenzie, Sydney, Thayne, and Colby Benoit of Esbon, Kansas; Terry Runion of Fort Collins, Colorado; and an aunt, Lois Runion of Phillipsburg, Kansas.  Diana was looking forward to being with her Lord and being reunited with her father, her grandparents, and her many beloved deceased pets.
