Angelina M. Henry, age 49 years, of Ellinwood, Kansas, passed away on Friday afternoon, April 24, 2015 at Ellinwood District Hospital in Ellinwood after a sudden illness. Angie was born on May 22, 1965 at Great Bend, Kansas to Wellington Mark Radford, Jr. and Margaret Louise (Webster) Radford.  She attended school at Great Bend and earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration at Barton Community College in Great Bend.  Angie was united in marriage to Timothy L. Henry on May 7, 1983 at Great Bend, Kansas.  She worked as a proofreader and sales associate for the Great Bend Tribune, and was a secretary for both Kitco Oil Company and the Dominican Sisters (both of Great Bend, Kansas) until injuries sustained in an auto accident prevented her from working outside her home.  Angie was a longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Great Bend, Kansas.  She loved fishing and camping when she was able, and loved feeding and playing with her grandchildren, as well as going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy L. Henry, Sr. of Ellinwood, Kansas; three sons: Ted (and his wife, Calyne) Henry of Canton, Kansas, Tim II (and his wife, Angela) Henry of Ellinwood, Kansas, and Roy (and his wife, Whitney) Henry of Stockton, Kansas; nine grandchildren; two brothers:  Dallas Radford of Kent, Washington and Gary Radford of Tacoma, Washington; four sisters:  Connie (and her husband, Ivan) Smith of Missouri, Tammy (and her husband, Ray) Gano of Washington, Kansas, Janice Radford of Lawson, Missouri, and Cynthia Meinecke of Marysville, Kansas; nieces and nephews.  Angie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Durward Eugene Radford.

According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen.  There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Great Bend, Kansas with Reverend Phyllis Flory officiating.  Memorials be directed to the Angelina M. Twilla Joyce Brack, 83, died April 25, 2015, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.
She was born July 20, 1931, on a farmstead West of Hoisington, the daughter of Henry Cordrey and Maudie Elizabeth (Anglin) Spires. Twilla attended Hoisington High School.

On January 22, 1949, she married Ralph D. Brack, in Independence, Kansas. He died June 30, 2000.

Twilla worked as a nurse’s aide for 9 years at the Hoisington Hospital. She then worked the next nine years as an office nurse for Dr. Robert Moore and later retired as a dental assistant for Dr. Blake Herres. A people person by nature, Twilla’s life brought her into close contact with probably hundreds of people.

Survivors include: a son Dennis Brack and wife Kellie of Great Bend; daughters, Reatha Michaelis and husband Roger of Great Bend, Terry Schneider and husband Norbert of Hoisington, Verna Hoover and husband Wayne of Pierce City, MO; five brothers and sisters, Briace Spires of Norton, KS, Basil Jantz of Salina, Clayton Spires of Hoisington, Shirley Juby of Gillette, WY, and William Spires of Westminster, CO; fifteen grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant daughter, Denise Brack; three sisters, Nadine Beeman, Melba Maggard, Berniece Whittaker, and a brother, LaVern Spires.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Hoisington Bible Church, with Rev. Gary Clark presiding. Interment will be in Hoisington City Cemetery.
Friends may call 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.

Robert Hugh Bowman

Larned – Robert Hugh Bowman, 87, passed away April 19, 2015 at the Salina Regional Medical Center, Salina, Kansas.

He was born September 21, 1927 in rural Macksville, Kansas. The son of Hugh and Velma Rice Bowman, Bob attended Zook School, played on the football and basketball teams, sang in a quartet, and graduated in 1945. Bob served in the U.S. Navy and later attended Tulane and Fort Hays State University for three years. After retiring from many years of farming, he became a substance abuse counselor at Larned State Hospital. Bob was an avid K.C. Royals fan and enjoyed watching all sports.

Bob served the community in many ways: the Kansas Farm Bureau board of directors from 1972-1986; board advisor to the Kansas Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers; and he was honored as the Kansas Master Farmer in 1979. Bob also served on the Pawnee County Soil Conservation Board, the Logan Township Board, the administrative boards of Larned and Zook United Methodist Churches, and the Zook School Board.

Bob enjoyed his family, particularly his grandkids, and had a wonderful sense of humor which he carried to his last days. He was viewed by many as a mentor, especially for his work with the Kansas Young Farmers and Ranchers.

On July 6, 1950 he married Mary Lou Robertson, who survives and mourns her spouse of 65 years. Other survivors include: his children, David (Linda) Bowman – Wichita, Susan (David) Rose – Salina, Doug (Sandy) Bowman – Perry, and Dan Bowman – Kansas City, MO.; a brother, Herb (Kathy) Bowman – Larned; a sister, Evelyn (Glenn) Bergmann – Olathe, and six grandchildren, Chris & Brian Rose; Ben & Andy Bowman; and Amanda and Ali Bowman. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob was a member of the University United Methodist Church in Salina.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall in Larned, with Rev. Mike Rose, University UMC Salina, presiding. Interment will be held at the Larned Cemetery, Larned.

Ethel Jonas, 91 died April 20, 2015 at Hays Medical Center. She was born in Barton County, Kansas near Susank on June 1, 1923. She was the second child of Lora Retta (Gardner) Jonas and Edmund “Edd” G. Jonas. Her brother, Walter was born in 1920. He passed away in 2005.

The family moved to Hoisington in 1926 where Edd worked as a blacksmith for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad. They bought a house on west Broadway and Ethel lived there continuously for the next 88 years. She graduated from Hoisington High School, was a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hoisington, cared for her elderly parents and worked on the flat iron mangle at the Hoisington Suburban Laundry for 30 years retiring in 1992. She moved to Cherry Village Residential Living Center in 2013.

As a life time resident of Hoisington, she enjoyed a close knit circle of friends and relatives. Ethel is survived by two nieces, Nancy Jonas Stichman & husband Dan of Lancaster, California and Janetha Jonas Sander and husband, Wayne of North Stonington, CT, 1 great niece and 3 great nephews.
She is also survived by cousins, Edith Gardner Grogan of Garland, Texas, Brenda Perkins of Garland, Texas, Betty Smith of Hoisington and other extended family members.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Hillcrest Cemetery, with Rev. Joshua Leu presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, with family to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Theresa Stanley, age 73 years, of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away on Sunday afternoon, April 19, 2015 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Theresa was born on October 3, 1941 at La Crosse, Kansas to Henry and Mathilda (Heronema) Basgall. She graduated from La Crosse High School and was united in marriage to William Stanley in 1961 at La Crosse, Kansas. Theresa worked as a Cook for many Great Bend area eating establishments, including JC Penney, A & W, Central Kansas Medical Center, the Petroleum Club, Barton Community College, Black Angus, and the Great Bend Senior Center prior to her retirement in 2000. She was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Prince of Peace Parish in Great Bend, Kansas. Theresa loved reading and watching World Series of Poker and Monster Jam on Television, along with spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, William Stanley of Great Bend, Kansas; three sons: Brian (and his wife, Melia) Stanley of Newton, Kansas, Brad (and his wife, Connie) Stanley of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Trevor Stanley (and his fiancé, Tuesday Preeo) of Emporia, Kansas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three brothers: James (and his wife, Berniece) Basgall of Paradise, California, Edward (and his wife, Shelly) Basgall of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Charles Basgall of Arizona; three sisters: Betty (and her husband, Jim) Rossman of Albert, Kansas, Zita (and her husband, Walter) Zimmerman of Great Bend, Kansas, and Leona Gumescheimer of Bazine, Kansas; nieces and nephews. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Twila Franzmathes.

Married Kaye Fox Rupp August 22, 1972 at Woodward, Oklahoma.

A lifetime Great Bend, Kan., resident, Mr. Damm was a former oilfield worker and for the past forty years had been self-employed as owner of Damm Rentals, building, purchasing, and remodeling residential and commercial properties throughout Great Bend.  He had a deep interest in anything mechanical and had a love of classic and specialty cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Dora B. Wagner

Larned – Dora B. Wagner, 95, passed away April 18, 2015 at the Country Living of Larned.

She was born April 19, 1919 in Pawnee County, Kansas; the daughter of Emery and Laura Blackwell Elmore. A lifetime area resident; she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and attended the Welcome Inn Senior Center, both of Larned.

On July 30, 1937 she married Clarence F. Wagner in Rozel, Kansas. He passed away July 9, 1994.

Survivors include; a daughter, Shirley Price (John), Rozel; three grandchildren, Janet Downing (Cliff), Salina, Amy Welsch (Troy), Larned and Chris Price, Rozel; six great grandchildren, Ashley, Christina, Tanner, Ally, Jenni and Trenton; and five great-great grandchildren, Leah, Gracelyn, Colton, Ava and Braxten.

She was preceded in death by; her sister, Fay Goalden.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Mark Lovett presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.

Family will receive friends and relatives through out the day on Wednesday at the home of Amy and Troy Welsch.

Beverly A. Wilson

Larned – Beverly A. Wilson, 67, passed away April 15, 2015, at AMG Specialty Hospital, Wichita.

She was born March 12, 1948, in Great Bend, Kansas; the daughter of Raymond and Juanita Woelk Smith. A lifetime area resident she was the Medical Records Director at the Larned State Hospital, She was also the Owner of the Rainbarrel Restaurant, Larned.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Larned.

In 1980 she married Merle D. Wilson in Larned. He passed away in 2010.

Survivors include: a son, Sid Smith (Kathleen), Larned; a daughter, Lori Mason (John), Austin, Texas and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by, a brother, Bill Smith.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Rev. Mark Lovett presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Point View Cemetery, Radium, Kansas.
